Bill Murray Is Down To Return For The New Ghostbusters Movie

For a long time, the lack of interest from Bill Murray was one of the impediments to a continuation of the beloved Ghostbusters franchise actually happening, before the actor finally relented and had a cameo in the 2016 reboot of the property. But with a secretive new movie set in the continuity of the first two Ghostbusters films on the way, we are again left to wonder if Murray’s Dr. Peter Venkman will return. Addressing why he came back for the reboot, Bill Murray provided some hope on the matter when he said:

I was in that movie just because they asked me, and I knew if I said no, I was saying I didn’t support that movie. I felt like, OK, I’m going to support them because I support them as people. So I did that one and I would do this next one.

Bill Murray’s friendship with fellow SNL alums Kate McKinnon and Melissa McCarthy is what compelled him to finally return to the Ghostbusters franchise. He wanted to support his friends and the biggest support and vote of confidence he could give them was to be in the Ghostbusters reboot when he was asked. Yet, even though the new Ghostbusters movie will not feature those actors, Bill Murray is still down to return, as he told IndieWire at the Cannes Film Festival.

You hear that Jason Reitman? That’s the sound of legions of Ghostbusters fans telling you to pick up the phone and call Bill Murray. The actor broke the seal with his appearance in Paul Feig’s reboot and isn’t as staunchly against participating in the franchise as he once was. On the contrary, he seems quite open to the possibility of returning for the secretive continuation of the series from original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman’s son Jason.

It’s an encouraging response because Bill Murray could have easily just said that he wasn’t interested or equivocated on the topic, but instead he said quite plainly that he would be willing to do the next Ghostbusters movie. Maybe all he needs is to be asked and to see a good script.

Despite Bill Murray’s aversion to working with Sony and in big Hollywood studio movies, likely contributors to his longstanding reticence to return, he still has great affection for the Ghostbusters franchise, as he explained:

This franchise paid for my son’s college. We made this thing. We are the caretakers of it. It’s a great thing and it was a really fun movie to make. It’s a real movie with some really funny stuff in it.

Bill Murray knows how important Ghostbusters was to his career and it’s something that he had a good time making. He also has an appreciation for the enduring nature of the franchise and how important it is to people. The actor also seems to feel some responsibility as a steward of the franchise to take care of it and perhaps that is part of why he has no problem returning for this new movie.

Bill Murray isn’t the only one of the original Ghostbusters willing to be a part of the 2020 film either. Although Harold Ramis sadly passed away in 2014, both Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson have expressed excitement about the new film and presumably a willingness to participate.

We’ll have to wait and see if any of the original Ghostbusters do return. If they do, they’ll be joined by the new actors who have already been cast, including McKenna Grace, Carrie Coon and hitting for a nostalgia trifecta, Stranger Things and IT actor Finn Wolfhard.

Plot details are nonexistent at this point, but this new, untitled Ghostbusters movie will be set in the same continuity as the original 80s movies. So here’s hoping that Bill Murray and the rest of the OG team return in some capacity for a movie that comes as close as possible to the untouchable original.

Details About John Wick 3's Villain Have Been Revealed

Through the first two chapters of the John Wick franchise, Keanu Reeves’ legendary assassin has yet to come across a foe that can take him down, with only a few even providing a challenge to the lethal Baba Yaga. But in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, John Wick will find himself outgunned like never before, on the run and with the world’s assassins united against him. The main villain in the film is one of those assassins, Mark Dacascos’ Zero.

Mark Dacascos has an extensive list of film and television credits like Cradle 2 the Grave, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Mortal Kombat: Legacy and Brotherhood of the Wolf, where he has showcased his stylish martial arts skills. He will bring those skills to bear again in John Wick: Chapter 3 as his character Zero tries to collect the $14 million bounty. Zero represents the biggest threat to Keanu Reeves exhausted hero who just wants to retire and play with his dog.

Zero will be John Wick’s greatest adversary, but it sounds like he won’t be a villain in quite the same way that the slimy Santino D’Antonio was in John Wick: Chapter 2 or Alfie Allen’s Iosef Tarasov was in the first film. Mark Dacascos told Empire Magazine that although rivals, Zero has respect for John Wick. He said:

He’s a huge John Wick fan, so you’ll see an essence of, ‘I have to kill you, but you know if I didn’t have to do that, we’d be besties!’

The brief shots we see of Zero in the trailer for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum make him look like the Terminator, a stoic killer who never stops, so hearing this adds another interesting level to his character. We know that John Wick commands tremendous respect in the underground crime world and it sounds like Zero not only respects John, but also almost wishes he didn’t have to kill him (or try at least) so they could be friends.

I’m sure the fact that Zero is a fan won’t make John Wick feel any better when he’s trying to kill him, but I guess it is nice to be respected by one’s peers.

In the last film we saw that Common’s Cassian had respect for Baba Yaga, but when he went after John, it was for revenge for killing Gianna-- whom he was charged with protecting. When Zero goes after John, it seems that it will be absent emotion, a strictly business situation where Zero wants to collect on the $14 million, even if he actually really likes and respects John.

It’s an interesting dynamic and I’m curious how much we’ll find out about Zero and if he and John Wick have any history. Were they contemporaries who came up in the world of assassins at the same time, each making a name for themselves? Or did Zero come in after, idolizing John Wick and looking to match him?

Mark Dacascos and Keanu Reeves are basically the same age so it may not be a case of the young lion eating the old, but as an assassin who is a John Wick fan, Zero undoubtedly wants to be the one to claim the achievement of taking out Baba Yaga.

Allison Williams Explains How Her Get Out Performance Enhances Her Character In The Perfection

There are many reasons why Jordan Peele’s Get Out is a phenomenal film, but certainly high on the list is the performance given by Allison Williams. Throughout the movie she does such an amazing job representing herself as an ally to Daniel Kaluuya’s Chris, so when the big twist goes down it basically feels like taking a shovel to the face. It’s become one of the most beloved surprises in modern horror, which makes it all the more exciting that Williams is returning to the genre with the upcoming The Perfection.

Interestingly, though, the connection between the two features doesn’t end with that. Without giving too much away, Allison Williams stars as a character in The Perfection that’s purposefully hard to get a full read on, and as a member of the audience you spend the majority of the runtime not quite sure if you can fully trust her. As you might imagine, this is a feeling that is only enhanced by those who associate the actress with her part in Get Out – and it’s a connection that Williams definitely recognized in the making of the new movie.

With The Perfection set to hit Netflix this Friday, I had the wonderful opportunity to sit down with Allison Williams, co-star Logan Browning, and writer/director Richard Shepard last week at the film’s Los Angeles press day, and during the interviews I took the opportunity to bring up the movie’s unique relationship with Get Out. Discussing the influence of audience perception of her character, Williams agreed with my analysis, and noted that it was something that occurred to her shortly after reading the script for the first time:

Richard [Shepard] sent it to me and said, 'This is insane. You need to call me after you read it.' And I was like, 'Okay, well if you think it's insane, and you're insane, and I think it's insane, and I'm insane, this must be really, really crazy.' And it was! And I called him right afterwards and as we were talking about it, it occurred to me that if you have a sort of associative hangover of me from Get Out, it's very helpful to go into The Perfection with that.

In the new movie, Allison Williams stars as Charlotte Willmore, a former cello prodigy who, at a young age, had to drop out of one of the most esteemed music schools on the planet when her mother got sick. Following her mother’s death, she tries to reconnect the world she was forced to disconnect from, and in the process gets to know Elizabeth Wells (Logan Browning) –the star student who joined the aforementioned school when Charlotte left. The two quickly hit it off during a special event in China, eventually making plans to go on a two-week vacation together in the country, but things start to go very badly very quickly on the adventure.

Without getting into spoiler territory, as the story progresses in The Perfection you’re never quite sure how to feel about Charlotte’s relationship with Elizabeth – and this is where memories of Allison Williams' Rose Armitage from Get Out start to play a role. As Williams explained, she loved that her past role tweaks the way we look at her new performance, while at the same time fully appreciating that Charlotte is an absolutely wonderful character independently. Said the actress,

I thought, what is more fun than using that to make people very, very untrustworthy when they see me for the first time and very wary of sending us off on a bus together in rural China - as you should be in the movie! And so I thought that was a very interesting sort of meta level to it. But first and foremost I was just fascinated by Charlotte. I thought she was so interesting and I just had to play her so that I could understand what makes that girl tick and what, what is going on in there.

This was a sentiment shared by Richard Shepard, who noted that he wrote the role of Charlotte in The Perfection with Allison Williams specifically in mind – having previously worked with her directing episodes of the HBO comedy series Girls. And while Get Out may not have had any specific influence in the writing process, it is something that he acknowledges will have an effect on the way people watch his film. Said Shepard,

The fact that people don't initially really trust Allison because of Get Out helps us enormously because Alison's playing a character that you're not quite sure is a good guy, or a bad guy. You can't quite get a grasp on her. And that's really important in a movie like this because people are projecting what they think. So Allison's sort of baggage helps a lot.

Continuing, the filmmaker further added that part of what makes Allison Williams such a talented performer is the way in which she is able to modulate her emotional reactions to effective degrees. She doesn’t show her full hand until exactly the right moment, and when that happens it can be powerful and affecting. Explained the director,

I've always seen in Allison an ability to hold back her emotions until it's really ready to show. And in this it was perfect because she was holding back just enough to keep the audience leaning in, and then when she needed to show it she really could.

Yes, Zachary Levi Prefers DC To Marvel, Thank You Very Much

What started off as the MCU dominating the on-screen superhero sphere and DC playing catch up has switched up n recent years. Warner Bros has made a good case for the potential of its own universe with entries such as Wonder Woman, Aquaman and most recently with the success of Shazam!.

Zachary Levi, who played the titular hero, is one of the few actors who has played comic book characters in both the Marvel and DC film worlds. Naturally, fans are curious how working under the two mantles compare. When Levi took questions at a panel at MegaCon in Orlando, here’s what he said:

I mean I had more fun working for DC. I got to be my own superhero for DC. It was super cool. While I wasn’t able to do the first Thor, I was cast in that by Kenneth Branagh, who I think is an incredible talent… and then getting cast as Fandral the Dashing, this Lothario, swashbuckling, Douglas Fairbanks - I was like ‘this is so dope!’

This isn’t a huge surprise. The actor was given an entire hero to call his own in the DC Extended Universe. For Marvel, he revealed that he was cast to play Fandral in the first Thor movie, but was unavailable. As a result, Josh Dallas took on the role for the 2011 film and Levi took over for Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok. Although he seems to have loved his character in the Thor franchise as well, it didn’t live up to its potential. He continued with these words:

We had some fun, but we didn’t really do all that much. I mean anybody who saw the movie, as you know they really didn’t really go that direction with the movie, so I really didn’t have that much to do. So I couldn’t possibly have had as much fun and by going and being my own guy who is a 14-year-old in a superhero adult body. The fun and funny, joy and heart that comes from a premise like that, that’s a fun movie!

Fandral and the Warriors Three may have been a common thread in the Thor trilogy, but they continued to be on the sidelines as the films went on and didn’t get much screen time. Levi previously expressed interest for the Thor sidekicks to get a spinoff of their own, but they were killed off in Ragnarok. After The Dark World struggled to impress Marvel fans, Levi’s Fandral didn’t even get a line in Ragnarok. His last words (or any lines for that matter) were cut from the film.

Zachary Levi even admitted his relief that Fandral didn’t make it out alive for Avengers: Infinity War, because it may not have freed his schedule for Shazam!. He said he likely would have been a sitting duck on set for three months only to be killed off then too.

When you ask Zachary Levi to compare his experiences with the two comic book franchises, his answer isn’t tough to predict or understand. His time with Marvel may have been a bit of a letdown, but it was redeemed in a big way when he took on the role of the adult Billy Batson. His Shazam! role allowed him to really show off his acting chops and play a kid in a superhero’s body. He was far from disappointed by the product since the movie was met with positive responses from critics and fans.

Zachary Levi has also pointed out how proud he is of Shazam’s attention to diversity, as it portrayed a foster home full of different identities, including Billy Batson’s bestie, Freddy, who has a disability. Due to the film’s predominantly young cast, a sequel is already being fast tracked for Shazam! at Warner Bros.

There really is no comparison for the actor given his experiences. That said, he has spoken out to fans in the past to stop pitting the two franchises against one another when Captain Marvel and Shazam! were being placed side by side at the box office and since the two heroes once shared the same title.

Why pick a side anyway? Both the comic book universes are offering something different for fans and can be appreciated in their own lights as they both continue to stack its slates with exciting releases.

Wait, Why Did Avengers: Infinity War Let Shuri Die Off Camera?

Every Marvel fan has that one victim of Thanos’s Decimation that they wish had survived. Watching our favorite MCU characters fading away into a cloud of ash was a pretty devastating event, and every time it’s brought up, it feels like a freshly opened wound in our hearts. And just when you thought it was all said and done with the greatest Marvel happening since the collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D., there was a new wrinkle added to the already high toll of emotional damages. As it turns out, Shuri -- sister of King T’Challa and tech guru extraordinaire of Wakanda -- was apparently part of the casualties of that fateful day.

While presumed to be alive at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, the trailers for Avengers: Endgame hit with the implication that one of our favorite Marvel geniuses was dusted off camera. At first, this was dismissed as one of those shots that the folks in charge love to include, so as to throw off fans trying to guess what’s going to happen in the actual film. But by time the posters for Avengers: Endgame hit, Shuri was a confirmed kill with her visage shown in the same black and white quality all the other fallen heroes took in their posters. Which not only has us mad, it has us questioning why in the hell Avengers: Infinity War would let such a huge death happen off screen.

The princess of Wakanda’s actual fate has always been considered up in the air -- even Angela Bassett herself seemed to think that Shuri, as well as her character Ramonda, had survived the ending of Avengers: Infinity War. It’s a conclusion we previously jumped to as well, as the film wasn’t shy about killing off a mass of characters that occupied both the front and center as well as the supporting rung of the series. Seeing everyone from Bucky Barnes to Groot biting the dust, it didn’t feel like they’d leave that important of a character off of the chopping block in the first half of this two part story. If she had done less to effect the outcome of the story, then maybe not including Shuri would have made sense. But, as we saw in her final recorded moments of activity in Avengers: Infinity War, her importance to the overall plot can’t be overstated.

Shuri’s big move in Avengers: Infinity War was all about the potential solution to save Vision from being dependent on the Soul Stone to live. Her last known location was in her lab in Wakanda, as Shuri was scrambling to finish her work, and it was even theorized that she possibly found a way to save Vision in order to resurrect him, sans the Infinity Stone that gave him life. Of course, Corvus Glaive burst into her lab during what looked like some very crucial stages of that process, and the question of whether or not she succeeded was left as open ended as whether she’d survived or not.

And yet, as we saw T’Challa disappear in front of Okoye during Avengers: Infinity War, we didn’t get such a scene with Shuri. Which is rather interesting, considering that not only is Danai Gurira's character a crucial survivor in Avengers: Endgame’s story, she was also the last person we saw with Shuri as they fought off Corvus Glaive in the Wakandan labs. You’d think those two would want to stick together, not only to up the odds of survival, but also to get Shuri over to her brother, so that the three could mount a mutual defense against Thanos and his goons. Even if she still died, it would have been on camera, she would have gone out fighting, and Okoye would be even more galvanized to carry on the good fight in Avengers: Endgame.

So why didn’t they show both children of Wakanda’s royal bloodline dusting away in Avengers: Infinity War? Well, whether they knew it was happening or not, this could have been Marvel’s own way of building in a trap door in case one particular party couldn’t be involved. Just as surprising as Shuri’s death was the announcement that Avengers: Endgame would include Valkyrie in the roster of heroes that survived The Decimation. So if Tessa Thompson’s schedule wouldn’t allow her to participate, then Letitia Wright might have been asked to come back as Shuri to balance the playing field. But as Valkyrie is now officially spared, someone had to take her place on the other side of the MCU wind, and that unlucky soul was Shuri. It may not be the best reason for omitting the character, but it plays by the rules of The Decimation, and feels like a natural fit.

Even with The Decimation requiring half of the Marvel Cinematic Universe be wiped out, wasn’t there another character that could have disappeared, allowing Shuri to remain? It’s useless at this point, as not only is her character expected to make a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Endgame, she’ll probably be back for further adventures in the Black Panther franchise, which seems like a shoo-in for a Phase 4 release date.

Obviously, the decision was part of a meticulous plan to end The Infinity Saga, and we’re not arguing with that fact. But even with the comfort that comes when thinking of the obvious return of the fallen from Avengers: Infinity War, it still doesn’t sit well that the proper time and space to grieve that character’s death wasn’t given to the audience members who latched onto and/or identified with Shuri at this stage of the game.

Here’s hoping we get some sort of real answers as to why this decision was made when Avengers: Endgame potentially provides closure on these queries and more on April 26th. Sylvester Stallone Teases Rambo 5's Surprising 'Battle To The End'

Apparently the previous Rambo movies were like pulling teeth to edit, but Rambo V: Last Blood is coming together "beautifully." Sylvester Stallone just gave fans a couple of updates, posting more photos from the film and also a video sharing his excitement for the fifth Rambo movie. Sly says this movie will surprise a lot of fans, especially with its "unexpected" ending...

I just want to talk about something that I think is really exciting. Usually when you're in the editing process of a film, it can be painful. What you thought was great is not so great. It's kind of like going to the dentist and having your teeth pulled with no Novocaine. Get the picture? But this last Rambo is just coming together beautifully. Today we're going to screen it for the studio and that's going to be fantastic. I'm just looking forward to of course their notes. But we'll go back. And I think this film is going to surprise a lot of people. It's a really good story, and the ending is so unexpected. So I just want to say, come September 20, Rambo is coming your way.

Hopefully the studio doesn't give Sylvester Stallone too many notes, 'cause that could certainly dampen his current high spirits. Sly shared his excitement in a cool new Instagram video, which you can watch here:

His enthusiasm is pretty infectious, and it's good to hear this movie is having an easier birth than the previous ones. I'm slightly worried about the surprise ending, though. Hopefully it doesn't mean anything bad for Vietnam vet John Rambo, although if this is "last blood" that might suggest a definitive end.

Speaking of the ending, though, right before posting that video, Sylvester Stallone posted a couple of images with the ominous caption "A brutal Storm is about to burst ... this is beginning of battle to the end ... Sept. 20..." Battle to the end, eh? Here's that post:

A brutal storm about to burst. The beginning of the battle to the end. Huh. We're on standby for a trailer, and that may help fill in some of the gaps. The movie is meant to follow Rambo as he travels to Mexico to help save a friend's daughter, who was kidnapped by the Mexican cartel.

Sylvester Stallone has been sharing photos and updates on Rambo 5 every step of the way. He wrapped filming on the movie in early December 2018, and shared some poignant words on the franchise:

Well that was it, that was my final shot [on] Rambo 5: Last Blood, at least that's what they are calling it, thus far. And it's been an amazing journey, it really has. This character was presented to me in 1980. And no one wanted to do it. As a matter of fact, I was the eleventh choice. People looked at this as almost as a cursed project. I looked at it and said this was an amazing opportunity...

The first Rambo movie was called First Blood, after the 1972 novel by David Morrell. The 1982 movie was followed by Rambo: First Blood Part II in 1985, then Rambo III in 1988, Rambo in 2008, and now Rambo V: Last Blood.

Sylvester Stallone recently said he had to take a break from gym time because making Rambo 5 roughed him up so much. But he's apparently back in the gym -- where he sometimes runs into old co-stars like Billy Dee Williams -- and I'm just hoping he's working on getting himself in top shape for The Expendables 4. There haven't been many official details on that movie in a while, but Sly hyped up the franchise just last week, reminding us all that the fourth movie should still be on its way. Stallone also has Escape Plan: The Extractors in the works. He's keeping busy at 72!

Rambo V: Last Blood is set to open in theaters on September 20, as one of the many movies worth keeping an eye on through our 2019 movie release date schedule.

Sister Act 3 Is Happening On Disney's Streaming Service

Disney is working on building up its upcoming streaming service, Disney+, into a powerhouse right out of the gate. In addition to original series based around Marvel and Star Wars, the streaming service will reportedly be the home for the long-rumored Sister Act 3. However, this comes with a major caveat -- because Whoopi Goldberg reportedly won't be involved with the new film.

First arriving in theaters in 1992, Sister Act follows Delores, a Reno lounge singer who witnesses her mob boss boyfriend commit a murder. She enters witness protection and is placed with a new identity in a convent in San Fransisco. Delores learns to adjust to her drastically new lifestyle, making friends with the nuns while bringing nationwide fame to the convent's choir.

The original was pretty successful, scoring $231 million worldwide. It was closely followed by a sequel in one year later, Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. This time Delores is brought back to the convent to help teach the music class for a down-on-its-luck Catholic school.

Twenty-five years after the release of the sequel, Disney is trying to revive the franchise with Sister Act 3. According to Entertainment Weekly, the new film will join the Disney+ streaming service. Regina Hicks, an executive producer on HBO's Insecure, and Karin Gist, showrunner of Fox's Star, are writing the script for the film.

However, this story will not include Whoopi Goldberg or her character Delores. The actresses reps released a statement that Goldberg would not be involved because Sister Act 3 is "not a continuation." So, it seems that Sister Act 3 will tell the story of a whole new character for a new generation of viewers to enjoy.

This is not entirely new information, as Whoopi Goldberg had previously said in September that Disney was moving in a new direction with Sister Act 3 and she likely wouldn't have much involvement. It's not really correct to call it Sister Act 3, so we'll just have to wait until Disney offers a new tile for us to reference.

There's no word on a release window for the new Sister Act film, but Disney+ is on track to launch later in 2019. The streaming service is building up quite the library, which includes shows for Avengers characters like Loki and Scarlet Witch, a Rogue One prequel series, a live-action Lady and the Tramp film, and Anna Kendrick's female Santa film.

Don't Freak, But The Genie Isn't Always Blue In The New Aladdin Trailer

When the first pictures of Will Smith's Genie appeared, people were shocked and even slightly outraged that Will Smith looked like, Will Smith. He wasn't blue, and as all fans of the classic Disney Aladdin know, the Genie was blue. Will Smith told people not to freak out and when the first footage of Genie came with an early teaser, we saw the Genie being blue. And then everybody freaked out again. Now, the first full trailer is here, and get ready for everybody to freak out again, because the Genie is blue, and also not blue.

This morning we got out best look yet at Disney's live-action Aladdin and it may set a lot of people's minds at ease, because it looks pretty good. We got to really see Aladdin, Jasmine and Jafar in action. We heard a couple pieces of some popular songs and everything looks good. Except maybe the Genie depending on your perspective.

When He's Blue

The trailer shows us Aladdin making his way through the Cave of Wonders, finding the magic lamp and then rubbing it to release the Genie. As we saw in the last teaser, when he is released, the Genie looks how you might have expected. He's big and blue and looks like a pumped up Will Smith. If you're not a fan of the CGI job, this trailer isn't going to change your mind.

It's here we also get the first part of an actual musical performance, some of the Will Smith version of "Friend Like Me." Smith will remain blue throughout this section. The last time that we see him in full CGI mode is during the "Making Aladdin a prince" scene. After that, everything changes.

When He's Not Blue

We first see Genie looking more like normal Will Smith earlier in the trailer, during the scene where Al is asking Genie if he can be made into a prince. We also seem him looking that way later, after "Prince Ali" has made his way into the palace. This is actually the last we see of Genie in the trailer, so it's possible we could see him transforming back and forth several times throughout the movie, depending on whether or not anybody is looking.

What seems likely, and has been my theory from the beginning, is that Genie has made himself look human as a disguise. This way he can interact with the other characters of the film without raising suspicion.

It's what the Genie actually did in the animated movie during the "Prince Ali" song. Genie performed it, and looked like a normal person, before disappearing and keeping himself hidden from the other characters. This way, Disney gets their money's worth out of having Will Smith in the movie. He doesn't need to stay off-screen the whole time.

Whichever version of the Genie you prefer, you're going to have to deal with the other version to some degree, but this way it seems everybody should get what they want at least part of the time.

It an extremely exciting time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Just one movie is left in Phase Three, and it's likely going to be one of the most epic and devastating installments from the last decade of filmmaking. Avengers: Endgame will pick up after the harrowing events of Infinity War, which saw Thanos unite the Infinity Stones and wipe out half of all life in the galaxy. It was an ending no one could have predicted, and it's been a long year of waiting for answers to finally come.

But Endgame will arrive in a matter of weeks, so the wait is nearly over for the rabid Marvel fanbase. Moviegoers are eager to reserve their ticket and pick a seat for The Russo Brothers' massive blockbuster, and luckily that time is coming up soon. According to the latest report, Endgame tickets will be available for pre-sale tomorrow, April 2nd.

This news comes to us from Comic Book, who has reportedly confirmed the information with the studio. So round up your favorite group of fanboy friends, and see who is available to see Avenger: Endgame. Because if you want the best seats in the house, you'll need to hop online tomorrow to snag your choice tickets.

Avengers: Endgame's tickets going on sale make the upcoming blockbuster all the more real, and should get cinephiles seriously excited. Physical tickets make the release all the more real, as its been a long year between Infinity War and Endgame. Fans have been left to wait and theorize regarding what the upcoming blockbuster could contain, especially after the last movie's shocking ending.

Infinity War ended with Thanos winning, and wiping out half of all the galaxy's life. Moviegoers were left to watch in horror as countless fan favorite characters faded to dust before our eyes. It was a twist that seemed to put the future of the shared universe in jeopardy, as fan favorites like Spider-Man, Black Panther, and most of the Guardians of the Galaxy perished.

With so many of the OG Avengers coming to the end of their contracts with Endgame, smart money put Peter Parker and T'Challa in larger roles in the MCU after Phase Three. But in order for that to occur, the survivors are going to somehow find way to reverse Thanos' snap. There are a variety of theories about how this might occur, including time travel and the mysterious Quantum Realm. And with countless fan theories currently floating around the internet, moviegoers are eager for some concrete answers when Endgame finally debuts in theaters. And that wait is almost over.

Shazam! Made More Money Than Aquaman In Preview Screenings

My man Aquaman has the highest-grossing DC film of all time. Shazam! is not expected to top it, or even come close, to be honest. But Zachary Levi's film is already defying expectations, with a preview screening pulling in bigger bucks than the DCEU's reigning king -- among other movies.

Shazam! played in 1,200 Fandango preview screenings Saturday night, making $3.3 million. That topped Aquaman's Atom/Amazon preview take of $2.9 million, and also the previews for How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World ($2.6 million), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle ($1.8 million), and Hotel Transylvania ($1.3 million).

Those figures are per Deadline, which noted that Shazam!'s preview box office take was spread pretty evenly throughout North America. Of course, that doesn't mean the movie will have a huge opening weekend at the domestic North American box office, or charm the international box office in the way that really boosted Aquaman over the top. But it's a promising start for a movie that's easy to root for.

Zachary Levi -- aka the kid-in-an-adult-superhero's body himself -- was on hand for one of Shazam!'s advance screenings. He thanked the fans, who were surely surprised and thrilled to see him:

The review embargo for Shazam! lifted last night, with critics flooding the internet with lengthy opinions. Most of the reviews have been very positive, and Shazam! currently has a Rotten Tomatoes rating of 93% from 46 reviews.

Shazam! is apparently tracking for an opening weekend somewhere around $40-$50 million. But lately every top film has overperformed -- from Captain Marvel making more than expected in her opening weekend, to Jordan Peele's Us nearly doubling the predictions for his film.

Aquaman actually had a relatively slow start at the domestic box office, with the lowest opening of the DCEU. But it definitely made up for it over time, especially with help from the foreign box office, and the movie currently has a worldwide gross of $1,146,648,294. That's the best of the current DCEU, and also the best for any DC Comics movie.

So right now many lucky critics and fans have already seen Shazam! but the rest of us will have to wait another couple of weeks. The movie officially opens in theaters on Friday, April 5. Shazam! will show up right after Dumbo, about a month after Captain Marvel, and only a few weeks before Marvel's Avengers: Endgame. How Johnny Depp's Pirates Of The Caribbean Character Was Key To Building Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

In a few short days, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, followed by the Walt Disney World opening in Orlando, Florida on August 29. The massive new lands, based on George Lucas’ beloved tales from a galaxy far, far away, are set to be the most immersive lands in Disney parks to date, truly making guests feel like they are visiting the Black Spire Outpost on the planet of Batuu.

To help achieve that new level of immersion, where guests can interact with bounty hunters and rebel spies, and become a part of the story, the plan is to eschew the character meet-and-greets Disney parks have traditionally used. Instead of having lines where guests wait to meet and take photos with a character, the focus will be on interactive experiences.

But you don’t just hope this new concept will work come opening day when the doors open to countless guests; you try it out first. So Walt Disney Imagineering did just that and enlisted the help of a Disney parks staple, Pirates of the Caribbean’s Captain Jack Sparrow.

The character played by Johnny Depp in the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, was used as a part of a series of play tests Disney conducted to test what it hoped to do in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The play tests took place in-park at Walt Disney World several years ago and involved Jack Sparrow just walking around the land and interacting with guests.

We’ve seen Johnny Depp show up at Disneyland as Jack Sparrow in the past, but this Jack Sparrow had a very specific purpose. The mission of these tests was to figure out the logistics of these story-driven interactive experiences that would be used in place of traditional meet-and-greets as Imagineering portfolio creative executive Scott Trowbridge explained to The Orange County Register:

If Captain Jack Sparrow was just walking through the land, how would guests react? And how can we create constructs that allow the story-driven experience? How can we let those story-driven experiences happen and still allow people to get the photo they want, but not turn it into a line of people waiting to take photos?

Guests weren’t clued in to the underlying purpose of these Jack Sparrow encounters, so Disney Imagineering got a raw and real look at what they could expect when they replicated this kind of experience at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The biggest questions involved how to maintain the desired experience, without it devolving into everyone just lining up to take photos like a traditional meet-and-greet.

That is definitely an interesting and complex problem with a lot of variables. But smartly, Disney used the play tests with Jack Sparrow to gain a better idea of how these story-driven experiences could work in practice, what the potential pain points are and how best to solve for them.

So with a big assist from Jack Sparrow, Disney has a better idea of how the guest interactions at Galaxy’s Edge will work. But Scott Trowbridge admits that there are some things they just won’t know until they are actually trying this in the new land and seeing what works, what doesn’t and how people respond.

If nothing else, it is a bold swing Disney is taking to try something like this. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is wildly ambitious to begin with, primarily on a technical level. But changing the way guests interact with characters in a theme park involves going against pre-established modes of behavior and expectations for how things operate, which is tricky in a very different way.

It will be very cool if this works out because it will just make things feel even more immersive and hopefully more fun and rewarding and be worth the absurd crowds and expensive tickets.

It's not uncommon nowadays for an actor to have played more than one comic book character, but Josh Brolin stands out from that particular group because he's pulling double comic book movie duty this year. In less than two months, we'll finally see his iteration of Thanos snag the spotlight in Avengers: Infinity War, and three weeks later, he'll debut as Cable in Deadpool 2. While the two movies aren't connected in any way outside of both being based on Marvel properties, the satirical nature of the Deadpool movies means that the upcoming sequel certainly has room to poke fun at Josh Brolin playing Thanos, and the actor believes that's just what will happen. When asked if any jokes about the Mad Titan were slipped into the dialogue, Brolin responded:

I can't imagine there's not going to be any. [Laughs] I'll put it that way. I'm up here right now in snowy Vancouver doing reshoots for Deadpool. Given that it's a satire of all superhero movies, especially Marvel movies, how can you not?

With any other non-MCU Marvel movie, it'd be practically impossible to reference Josh Brolin's work as Thanos in the MCU, but this is Deadpool we're talking about. The Merc with the Mouth has a habit of breaking the fourth wall, and while he won't be crossing paths with Thanos in Deadpool 2, there's nothing stopping him from cracking a few jokes about the purple alien warlord to Cable, even if the cybernetically-enhanced mutant has no idea what he's talking about. It wouldn't be the first time that Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson has referred to another superhero movie. In the first Deadpool movie, he requested that his super-suit not be green or animated (Green Lantern), and in the Ferris Bueller-inspired post-credits scene, he asked the audience if they expected Samuel L. Jackson to show up with an eyepatch and a "saucy little leather number."

Josh Brolin didn't spill the beans to EW on just how Deadpool 2 will poke fun at the actor's tenure as Thanos, but the sequel's most recent trailer got in two good digs relating to the Mad Titan. After noticing that the CGI for Cable's arm wasn't complete, Deadpool declared, "Fuck it, I'll do it myself," echoing the same, non-obscene sentiment that Thanos expressed at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Then, when acting out a fight between himself and Cable using action figures, Deadpool said he "had the stones" to help his adversary, subtly referring to the Infinity Stones that Thanos desperately desires. However, both those jokes could easily go over heads, so however Deadpool 2 chooses to make fun of Brolin's Thanos, hopefully we'll instantly know when that's happening.

Deadpool 2 opens in theaters on May 18, while Avengers: Infinity War is now scheduled for release on April 27.
